Police arrest drug barron, recovers 46 bags of Indian hemp, others in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command arrested a suspected drug barron, identified as Muhammad Isma’il and recovered 46 bags of Indian hemp along with other illicit drugs.

The 30-year-old suspect was arrested at BCGA Quarters in Malumfashi LGA of the state following an intelligence report.

In a statement on Monday, the Spokesperson Katsina Police Command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Alilu, said, “Nemesis caught up with the suspect when information about his suspected nefarious activities was received at the Malumfashi divisional police station. Promptly, detectives, led by DPO Malumfashi, swung into action and succeeded in arresting the suspect.


"Upon immediate search of the premises, fourty-five (45) bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, five hundred (500) bottles of sucking and die solution, and some quantity of D5 tablets were recovered from his possession.

“During the course of interrogation, suspects confessed to the commission of the offence and further mentioned Ibrahim Kisko, now large, as his accomplice.

Meanwhile, the suspect and exhibits will be transferred to NDLEA for further discreet investigation, please.”
